Blue Heron Tea Nook Events

To our new users, welcome to the Blue Heron Tea Nook! As you are no doubt aware, Pale has recently ended. In celebration, we’re hosting our first community event!

This event will be a contest. Over the next month, karma will be awarded for completion of various tasks. At the end of the contest, karma will be tallied up and our three most prolific participants shall receive, as Wildbow once wrote, “mucho cred” in the form of a shoutout post.

The following actions please the Spirits:

Commenting on a fic submitted for the contest: +1 karma
Submitting a prompt: +3 karma
Submitting a fic: +5 karma per prompt used!

To submit a prompt, please reply to this post and leave your prompt in the comment. We’re limiting this to one prompt per poster.
Prompts must be submitted by the end of October 19th, EST.

2. Navigate to the Profile widget on the top left side of the site
3. Click "Join Community"

Post an entry;

1. Click the pencil icon for "Post to Community" in the Profile widget orclick "Post" in the Dreamwidth bar on the top of the screen
2. Type up post
3. Make sure the post is formatted according to BHTN guidelines
4. In the summary, state what prompt this is for.Make sure that the post destination is set to blueheronteanook 
5. Click "Post to: blueheronteanook"
6. Reply to the dropbox thread with a link to the fic.

You can write and submit as many fics as you like, until the contest wraps up on November 19th! As a reminder, the rules for the Tea Nook are:

Rule 1: Acceptable content

• This is a place for Pact and Pale related fic and meta. Fic and meta should be formatted correctly, with further instructions here.
• Works must involve characters from Pact, Pale, Poke, or Pate, meaning no elsewhere fic
• Works must be at least 300 words or longer
• Direct depictions of sex are not allowed, but sex between characters may be implied or referenced.
• Content warnings beyond the listed major set are not required
• Comments do not need content warnings for anything discussed in the original post

Rule 2: Don't be hateful

• The Blue Heron Tea Nook is meant to be a welcoming community. Posters should not advocate violence or harassment against real-life groups.
• Be considerate of how your statements can be interpreted by others
• Do not use slurs to describe real people
• Do not talk about how great it would be if someone was raped, tortured, maimed, etc.

Rule 3: Be civil

• Be courteous and decorous to other posters. Do not harass each other.
• When disagreeing, attack the argument, not the person
• No flaming

• Any works posted here should be made by the poster
• Links to other people's work are acceptable as long as you do not falsely claim it as yours
